About Us

Treatment Philosophy:

Healy Counseling Associates offers a systematic approach to addictions through the outpatient level of care modality, which include group, individual, and family sessions. We incorporate a belief in the theory of change with special emphasis on relapse prevention in the maintenance stage. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, 12 step Therapy, Rogerian Approach are all included in our client centered approach and we have found this to be most effective with clients we've worked with to date.

Administrative Team:

Patricia Healy founded Healy Counseling Associate with her partner Gail Halbfoster. Healy Counseling Associates has been a part of the Toms River community for over 40 years. Patricia has been treating clients and their families struggling with addiction for over 40 years. Ms. Healy has been on the Ocean County Professional Advisory Committee and Alcohol and Drug Education since its inception. In 2017, she was elected to be the chair of the said committee. Despite enjoying retirement life she is an active participant in our daily operations here at Healy Counseling Associates.

In 2016 Patricia Healy handed the practice over to her son and daughter in law. John J. Healy and his wife Kathleen B. Healy.
